Well said mtman.I think a lot of time we take catching these fish for granted, people need to realize these fish are hard to catch and they take alot of patience. Not like catching perch or crappie....

So I guess it is true I was once told that muskie are a fish of a thousand casts . I have tryed and tryed to hook one I have had them follow but no hook ups ever .But I dont let it get me down I will keep trying .

Some days they are definetly the fish of 10,000 cast. Keep up the trying you'll get one soon or later bigboy.

AHH yes, I to have been avoided by the elusive Tiger Musky. It's not for lack of trying though. I have likely made 20 to 30 thousand casts at newman this year looking for my first, but so far, Zero. I did however have the opportunity to watch Doug W catch 2 in one evening out of the back of "MY BOAT" so I guess it's not the boat, nor the location I've been fishing that is the problem. One of the problems is the fact that I can put the big rod down and grab the ultra light and load the boat with 12 and 13 inch crappies nearly every night of the week. In fact, I just did it again today. 2 1/2 hours of casting for muskies produced only one 3 1/2lb large mouth. 1 1/2 hours of crappie fishing produced 20 fish in the 12 and 13 inch range. Man thats fun. I gotta leave that ultra light home next time. Happy Fishing

I keep telling doug it doesn matter what the boat looks likes or how big it is the fish don t care lol and obviously it doesnt matter where in the boat you are lol.. Sometimes you just have to make that perfect cast where one if sitting. Keep trying youll get one to hit and then youll see why people are so passionate about fishing for these fish.. good fishing everyone
