Went out today with AMX (tom) and we had round three of out little derby with rjn cajun and bassination. Well Tom and i had found a pattern last time we were out so we went to it. After a few small fish and one small keeper largie i get the big bite of a 3lb smallie on my dropshot and fight him all the way to the boat and he pops off underneath the boat. So we work more areas with more dinks. Then around the area i hooked mine Tom lands a 2lb 6oz smallie on a dropshot. We then go to do our weigh in for the derby and toms fish was bigger then the 3 they had combined. So we won the derby but wanted to keep fishing to show that we had a good pattern. We kept with it and caught probably 20 more dinks to 1 1/2 pounders. I also caught a bluegill on the dropshot and a 9inch crappie. But we were at another spot and tom was deadsticking the dropshot and his line went taught and he fights it to the boat and i net it and its another 2 and 1/2 lb smallie. All of our fish besides one came on the dropshot.
