Made a solo trip to Deer this morning for a few hours of Bassin'. Fishing was a bit slower today, but i still managed (7) SMB & (2) LMB. Today was the 1st time i've ever had Power Worm's out fish Senko's. I switched because i was sick of only catching 1 fish per senko & the Berkely's are so much stronger. The 7" Black w/Charteuse got me my biggest SMB & LMB of the day, both around 2lbs. But the 4" Blue Fleck also produced when fished on a Drop Shot. Most fish were between (12"- 15") & caught in 6' - 20' of water. Sorry no pics today, forgot the camera. -William K-

nice job, way to still produce numbers in the heat. You think morning fishing is better then evening fishing in the heat like this> also, were you drop shotting you sinkos to? I need to learn how to tie that knot for the drop shot to make the bait stick out instead of along side the line. Good report.

I think in this extreme heat the early mornings are better, that said i usually catch bigger fish in the evening. At least in the AM the lake has had all night to cool down & in the evening it's only beginning to cool. Yeah i do drop shot senkos i like to use the 4'' ones when i drop shot. As far as the Palomar knot it's real simple once you see it, but the most important part is bringing the tag end back through the eye of the hook that's what makes the hook stand up. Google "how to tie a drop shot" & your in business. I'll email you soon about going fishing, hopefully it will cool off soon. -william

ok, well i am at a stand off about tomorrows fishing trip, i am not working much latley so i have the option of morning or evening. and location is still up in the air too. I have looked at the knot on line a few times but never tried tying it yet, i can learn easier to see one done. Anyone have any suggestions foe my trip tomorrow or even an evening/night job that is part time. I am on the hunt for one. Stay safe out there.

Google for Grog's Fishing Knots. That site has animated step-by-step illustrations on how to tie knots.
