Fun for sure beats the heck out of LMB. Now that you have caught one, go try some of the Northern Pike in the Cda river and compare the fight. I grew up on Muskie in N. Minnesota and I just gotta laugh about the hoorah everyone is giving these Tiger Muskie or dim whitted half breeds released here in the state. They can't fight worth a darn compared to a real Muskelunge, they are fat and lazy, their flesh is softer and they don't taste anything like a Muskie should. That said, they are a Muskie and they are here and now, but if you liked that experience, make a trip to N. Minnesota Lake of the Woods or Rainy Lake, or better yet Ontario Canada book a guide and once you fight a real native Muskie you will know what I mean. Your close enough to the Cda to get on those Pike, I would if I were you and then compare the fight just between those two species.
