After a week in Kansas City and a week in Denver (hit up the Bass Pro Shops in both cities) we finally found some time from our busy summer to go fishing this afternoon for a couple of hours and decided to hit the smallmouth at Long Lake. Not too much boat traffic on a cool breezy afternoon, water temps were around 70 degrees. Went right to one of my favorite spots and nailed this nice one on a Bass Pro Shops Realistic Perch Crankbait. Sure is nice to be back in town. Hey Bazzdude, I still have a t-shirt and buzzbait for you...

Thanks for the post. How are the Carps doing out there, read that they got cleaned up for the most part.

It does smell better than a few weeks ago, still saw a couple floaters though, was only out for a short time so I didn't pay too much attention.

I picked up some Zoom 8'' Mag Lizards that you like so much. I was wondering if you could tell me how you fish em'? Like hook size, sinker weight ,(if any) , & retrieve. Thamks. -William

Hey Bazzdude, good to hear from you, didn't get a weight but your pretty accurate at eye balling them, was too stoked about missing one huge smallie earlier to weigh this one. I'm sure we all have had one follower at sometime or another where you run out of water for them to hit, urgghh! Had one huge smallie follow my crankbait and needed only another foot for the hit, he went under my boat and that was the last I saw of him, was at least 6+... You know the spot....

o man, that would have been a nice one there, but the only thing is they are hard to keep on the line when the hit that hard so close to the boat, you really don't have much line to play with so you better hope your drag is set good. nice report.
