I had just posted about never seeing at Yellow Perch after fishing it all summer. Rockbass are the prevalent sunfish, but yesterday i found a hungry school of blue gills and yellow perch and entertained myself with several of them during a nice sunbreak on Sunday.

They favored salty soft plastics in brown and green.

i didn't think it was crappie based on the big yellow belly.

That's definitely not a crappie. I believe it's a redear sunfish.

Sorry, not a redear, just checked, it's a pumpkinseed.

37 + years ago we used to get perch by the bread bags full out of Green. I'm glad to see that they are back! Definately red ear, pumpkinseed has some little redish dots on the body.

Pumpkinseed, not red ear. You boys need to spend some time down south, or at least buy a book on fish ID.
