The weather was gorgeous today so I took one of my buddies out to Union with me.
The Fishing was AWESOME!

Species Caught:
Largemouth Bass
Smallmouth Bass
Rock Bass
Pumpkinseed Sunfish
Bluegill
Yellow Perch
Northern Pikeminnow (Squawfish)
Sculpin (Bullhead)

I caught all of the above species.
My buddy caught almost all of the above species except for the Largemouth, Northern Pikeminnow, and Yellow Perch.

I lost count but I know I caught approximately 40 + fish today.
We fished from about 5 pm to 9:30 pm or so.

We were both using Drop Shot Rigs with Nightcrawlers and it produced beautifully!

I started off the day using crankbaits again.
I lost one of my favorite crankbaits snagging a sunken log.
I must have been snagged pretty good because it snapped my 30 lb Power Pro.
No Largemouth on the crankbaits today but I did catch a dink on a White Spinner Bait.

The Bluegill bite is pretty hot and at this time of year they have some really awesome vibrant colors.
A couple of the ones I caught had some unusual colors.
Their throats were bright pink instead of the usual orangish redish color.
A lot of their fins were very blue almost like tropical fish.

Towards the end of the night when it got dark, we saw massive schools of fish but couldn't get a good look at them to see what they were.
They almost looked like crappie because all I could see was a black and silver coloration but they might have been some sort of trout because they were swimming around really fast and close to the surface.
I guess I will never know what they are unless I catch one.
They wouldn't take or even show interest in anything I tossed at them.

My friend has been really wanting to catch some fish and I wanted to get him on some fish.
We both had a blast today.

The bluegill pictured is the average size we were catching today.
They really are pretty looking fish.
I believe the smallest we caught was about 6 inches and the biggest close to 9.
