Fished for largemouth bass at my beloved Lake Cassidy on Saturday afternoon...the solunar tables said it should be good, and it was! I fished for 3+ hours very slowly in the cold water for one bite...and although I did manage to C&R a few dinks...I got "the one!" This pig is why I come here so often, and why I blacked-in the background where I caught her (my secret). I think this pig has broken me off before in the same area a couple times this year, but today was my turn to win. The bass was at least 8 pounds, maybe more. Barely hooked too...but I got it in the boat. What a moment, and a great way to most likely end my bass fishing season (finally, but nothing is for sure). I carefully released the monster, thanking it for making my week! So glad I fished Saturday instead of Sunday.

Beautiful fish! I bet she was caught down at the far end from the launch on the east side. That is where I caught my Lake Cassidy personal best.

You rocked that!!!!!! Did you happen to try for any trout there? Do they allow outboards on Cassidy these days?

Cassidy is like a 9hp limit, all lake is no wake zone. My biggest LMB's have been outta there. I miss living on Lake Stevens as it was just a short drive to one of my favorite holes.

Thanks! ......Yes...(VooDooChild is right) outboards are okay at Cassidy, but the speed limit is 9-10 mph / no wake zone. Also, the launch area is in VERY shallow water. I've seen some bigger boats have trouble getting in/out. I use a smaller boat and electric motor only out there, and run it as little as possible. Sorry I cannot be much help with trout...I spend about 99% of my fishing time hunting big bass, and just don't know. But I have seen some guys do really well for trout over the years, at certain times. Take care and good fishing to you!

Great catch Hawgs!!! Dude to dude, with the amount of time you spend on the water you should definitely get yourself a scale. About a month ago I caught my personal best then 10 minutes later topped it (Pics of them both are posted in the trophy bass forum) and I would've never known exactly what they weighed with out my digital.

Definitely get a scale! A good pair of boga grips isn't cheap, but the scale is accurate and it's less hazardous to the fish.
