I went to Lake Cassidy and figured they might be biting after the two warm days we had. I got there 10:40am and was only one on the lake and water was calm. I went left from boat launch and sat in the lilly pads...2nd cast FISH ON! I landed after a good fight 13" by 3" Bass on my top water rapala. Nice to catch one and big one for me right away best this year is 14". I got 3 more bites in the pads and caught another 9". They were rolling on the bait and subtle bites so you had to pay attention to see your lure go under. I worked my way down that side of the lake and caught a few more 8"-9" bass on top water. The wind started to pick up and I ducked into the channel on west side of the lake and had 7 bites in there and landed 3 more nothing huge but lots of action. I then took a lunch break as wind was howling and had it push me down to far end of the lake...but it didn't let up so decided to troll some and put on mepps green spinner and tried my rapala too...worked back on east side of lake and wind died down some...so tried the mepps spinner in the pads and about 2nd cast FISH ON! This one was a struggle as I had loosened up the drag to troll...so had to adjust it while fighting this guy...got him in and another 13" Bass not bad. I then worked my way to other end of the lake and stopped a few times to cast but no bites. I made it north end and tossed the top water no hits so went back to the mepps and stayed out deep and tossed towards docks and pads. I got an 11" Bass in front of dock. I gave up 5pm but ended up 9 Bass 2 13" by 3" wide, 1 11", 3-9", 1 8.5", 1 8.25" and 1-8". Not a bad day for November 4th! I love global warming longer bass fishing season.
