Wow! What a day of weather for being on the water. We launched at Cav. at about 9:30, I have fished the lake plenty for Kokes and I feel confident in where to find them. Usually the first fish is only 5-10 minutes from the launch. I have never been here this late in the year, and I am thinking that I've heard maybe they spawn at this time or soon. We fished all over the lake, we caught 4-5 cutts. The cutthroat in here have never looked well nourished. They are very skinny and only 8-9" Cutts all released. Never caught a single koke. This was the worst day I've prob. ever had on this usually great lake. The wind was always there, and at times pretty heavy. It poured, or rained constantly. After a couple hours we packed up and went to Lake Stevens. Was trolling various koke gear, koke apex, red/white, Homemade spinner made by Toni (walakes.com) spinners with fly, Cyclops spinner. all produced cutts.

Seems to be Late for Kokanee. They should be hitting the Creeks.

Last time I fished cav I couldnt get them to bite purple. Pink was real hot. We had luck on those new minny squid shirts 1.5inchs with a tinny pink spin/glow winged corky. I also use white shoe peg corn. I always have luck with that. Im also new to koks this year Ive learned alot from Rseas and Ive read the Kokanee book by Dave Biser a very good read. I went to the left from the launch and stayed in 60-80ft of water trolled deep. 40-50ft. Thanks for the report
