My 11 yr. old son and I hit up Lake Sammamish at around 10am. My son used a red wedding ring with a chunk of gulp night crawler and I used a brads mini cut plug with herring scent added. My son had the first two take downs, first thing in the morning. He lost both of them. Then it was slow for the next few cold, windy hours. Finally my rod popped off and it was a nice 18 in cutt. Slow then for a bit longer, and then we boated 4 more cutts. We fished 20 ft down off the riggers 1.5mph-1.7mph.

I'v e got a couple of those mini cut-plugs myself. I just have to find some time to use them. Thanks for the report. It seams that cutts are easier to find or EZer to hook in L. Sammamish than L. Washington. Nice pictures too. Tight Lines!

Looks like you had a pretty good day out there, good to see Sammamish is still producing.

Joe - the mini cut plugs is 3" long, about what a red label herring would end up being when plug cut.

That's funny you should mention red label herring. We thumped 'em last winter on cut plug herring and a sling blade. Thanks for the update on speed and depth!
