My Brother Jeff called me up and wanted me to smoke 2 Laketrout so he could send them to friends Back East. So I went out to the freezer and couldn't find any so "Darn it" had to go Fishing for me!!!
Started Fishing off Rocky Point targeting depths of 180 to 220ft. The Ace Hi-Fly By Silverhorde was my bait of Choice tipped with Pikemi...nnow. I kept my presentation 1 to 3 ft off the bottom and my speed between 1.2 and 1.6mph.
I just had a Blast all by myself today..Got hit on 1 rod right away and as I was fighting the fish my other rod took off..I had to just laugh to myself while watching the fish pull the other rod down to the water and me not being able to reel it in..
Ended my 2.5 hr. fishing trip with 9 nice Laketrout and the big fish of the day tipped the scale at 9lbs..Tight Lines to all and be safe out there...

That should make the Brother happy. Plenty for the smoker. Way to go Joe, and glad you did a trip for yourself.

Nice work Joe, Bill and I Hit the Chelan, Dec 27 thru Dec 29. Fishing was tough with the weather change. We caught 6 fish each day. (3-4 hr trips) The lure of choice varied each day. Flat fish one day, homemade spoons the next. thanks again for all your tips

Joe, are you having to chain up or run studded tires to get inn and out of the boat ramps? The background in your picture looks like conditions are at the very least.......challenging, if not miserable! Any good boat backing on ice or packed snow stories at the boat ramp to tell?

Really neat to hear you went out for you, had a blast and shared it right here. Very much appreciate your shared experience. Just like Lewis, I say, way to go Joe!

Lewis, go fish with Joe tomorrow. Would be an epic trip.

Well the launches have been Challenging with the Snow and the Ice but I have managed to launch unscathed..But have been involved in a couple of incidences and have been called on to help rescue a F-350 Ford pulling a 23ft. Hewes(did I mention FORD) that was Jack-knifed sideways on the launch here on Lake Chelan.. My Toyota Tundra didn't even spin a Tire while pulling the F-350 and Hewes up the Launch..Man I wish I would have taken a series of Pictures of this episode.. Would have made a Great Commercial for Toyota and maybe I could have recieved a few Perks..

TOYOTA? I know from experience they are good, BUT "Capability and experience" play a Big role in the launch episodes. Joe, I think "You" could take a bicycle and do better than most on the icy launches. LOL AND MotoBoat, I'm still cying that I had to work instead of fishing with Joe. Someday !!!!
