Hit the water at first light. Came off the water at last light. I woke to starlit skies at 4AM. The gravitational pull to Rufus was strong. Just above Brewster I drove under a fog bank that remained all day. Water temp. was cold. Air temp. was colder. Breezes thruout the day kept things kind of miserable. It was the first time in a long time that I've allowed my hands to get cold.(Something I won't soon forget.) I C&Rd my first fish within 10 min. of launching. It was about 14". I picked it up on a fast trolled frog pattern Needle fish. I fished the can line, both sides of the river up to Brandts & back. I didn't see any bank fisherman catching anything. I did stir the ducks a little for some guys hunting by Brandts. I tried a lot of different plugs, lures, flies & wedding rings in various sizes and colors. And various depths
& speeds. I started the day with a fish & ended it with another. The one I kept was picked up with an olive colorred B-2 squid behind an action disc. The B-2 was slatherred in power bait & the fish took it deep. Otherwise I would have C&Rd it too. To sum things up, Olive & or green were the only things in common yesterday.
