Freaking cold. That's what i was muttering to myself during the walk back to my house trying to get some blood back into my fingers which had gone numb. And that i refuse to stationary fish with worms or powerbait, so that my hands are constantly casting and reeling the spinners and spoons i was employing. None the less the familiar tug tug of a fish on was a welcome feeling ~ and what separates fishing from standing around looking like an idiot while people come up asking "are there fish in there??"
I snapped this pic just to back up what should be a obvious answer. The little bugger put up enough of a fight to draw some blood off his jaw. I sort of feeling bad that those treble hooks can hook up weird, but that being said, i've lost 2/4 trout this year on such "weird" hook ups. So that's just the way it goes.
Greenlake is fairly weedless at this time, so it's a good time for seeking out the shallows, and the brown trout imho are a better catch than the rainbows they will stock in the spring.
(released, with minor injury, witnessed by a cute little kid who'd obviously never seen a live fish b4)
