Got in the water about 2:30 and started trolling.

We tried a few different things, but finally got a strike on a needlefish spoon near the N end of the lake. As I was reeling it in my friend jumped and grabbed his rod. I thought "Awesome! A double header." Turned out he was snagged on some small rope someone had left in the lake. My catch was a 4# tripiloid.

We each kept our catch. Mine going in the frying pan and his in the trash.

I knew there were some left in that lake! I had one hit a dicknite spoon so hard it broke my line.

Nice! I picked up a nice piece of rope on my last trip up there too. Four foot section of 1/4" nylon that had loads of mono stuck to it. Catch of the day.

@bentrod, did you see hydra's dicknite spoon in that 'cluster'?

I'm happy that you finally caught one, though not with my technique. I have replied your post with the rest of the puzzle… you did got part of it right. Just don’t spread it as most people don’t remember this technique, keep it our little secret. By the way, don’t kill them all once you figure the last points of the technique, remember: only 2 fish above 15 inches.

lol...no. At first I was thinking I was going to get some free tackle, but it was just line.
