It was a fabulous day out ice fishing today. Weather was great until about 2pm when the wind and clouds and rain rolled in. But that didn't stop us or the fish from biting! We got to the lake about 9:30 and the morning was a little slow, the afternoon did the best for us. Lots of perch between 7" to 10" only a couple bigger ones. We ended up catching about 70 and released probably 20 that were smaller than 7". Nothin' really to write home about but they were all nice fat fish that in a good quantity will make a great meal! Lot's of fun with my best friend and my dad. It sure is too bad this will be my last ice fishing outing of the year due to baseball in college getting going. The ice was anywhere from 8" to 12" thick. No problems at all, just stay away from the cattails right by the cove, ice is a little iffy there. There were probably close to 100 people out today, fishing, walking, or whatever. Oh! and the sculpin love worms close to the bottom about 150-200 yards off of the point if anyone wants any of them. ha ha
Good luck out there and be safe!
