After reading the last two reports on Burke, I decided to make a quick stop today. I got there around 1pm and left at 2:30pm. The large tent for the derby was already set up. There were alot of people there fishing and camping. I was told they had just released a large amount of trout this morning for the derby.

I found a spot to the east of the boat launch. Saw several fish surfacing so started using a silver Kastmaster. After 30 minutes and only one bite, switched to powerbait. For the last hour landed three fish. They were 10", 14", and 16". I missed about half a dozen bites and lost a 10" at shore.

Pretty good day for a hour and a half of fishing. A couple of the fisherman around me caught several 10"ers. However, most weren't catching anything from what I saw.
