Finally got back up to RW. Cindy and I launched at the corps launch at the lower end of the lake around 8:30 or so. water temp running 39*. We headed upriver to the lower pens, tossed the usual assortment, but could not get a bite. Marked some fish close to the bottom right below the pens, but we didn't bring any bait along, otherwise we would have plunked for a while. Moved on down to the cabin hole, and again, no bites. Finally got into fish around pump #1 and for about a mile above it along the tribal shoreline. We brought home a two person limit that ranged from 1 1/2 - 5#. a couple of the small ones were hooked questionably, so we just brought them home. By the time we started getting bites, the wind had came up and was tossing foot rolllers. Not too bad, but mean on the boat control, especially with the sudden gusts, and fishing close to shore. Cindy hooked into a nice one in about 6-7 feet of water on a black jig and 4 pound line. She had it close to the net a couple of times, and I ran the boat over it a couple of times, due to the wind, along with almost getting blown up on the rocks, all while she's trying to get this nice fish boat side. I was ready to net, and trying to stay off the rocks, and the fish did not like the looks of the boat at all. We thought we had it licked when it made another run under the boat, and must have rubbed the line on the hull, cause the line went limp and no fish. Needless to say we had to sit down for a while after that one. What an adreneline rush. Cindy caught more fish than me, but I "Boated" the biggest one today. Talked with several fishermen, some who was on the water yesterday also, and everyone had the same report. Slow. There was reports of several caught along the can lines, but most folks were having good fishing, just not much catching. I think we will let it warm just a bit more, then give it another try. Stay safe all.

Lewis glad to see you hit Rufus and Cindys smile shows the fish are coming around. I limited out on Saturday with nothing spectacular. Seems the water is still pretty cold for the time of year. Again nice report and great fish..
