Went out for the first time on Potholes this year.

The day started around 8am with it being nice & sunny, which held throughout most of the day. A light wind made it a bit chilly though.

We went out to the rockpile first off and I lost a few fish on a dropshot & Levi was able to land a 3 lb. Smallmouth dropshotting a 4" Yamamoto Kut Tail, #2 Gamakatsu Hook, and 1/4 Quickdrops weight in about 15 feet of water. The water temp out on the rockpile and around Goose Island was 44F.

Then we decided to run back into the dunes by Winchester and I hooked up with a 5.87 Lb. Largemouth Caught on a Rapala crankbait off a beaver hut. The water temps were 51F back there.

The fishing on Potholes is heating up! The quantity isn't quite there yet, but the quality definitely is!
