Had a great day on Silver, regardless of the nasty weather. Wind was blowing 21mph, temp was 36 degrees! There were a few whitecaps and plenty of spray! Caught one tiger, my first of the year. She was 40" x 17". Hit on a 10" Swimmin Joe, in night shiner color (kind of a red/orange/black thing). Great day, even though I froze my butt off......

Right on doug. Hell of a fish and it looks like her fins are in good shape. Best of luck this season!

Doug, It's good to see you're back at em. I have some new baits in the box and I'm anxious to try these tigers again. We'll have to hook up and go get some. Happy Fishing

Not exactly the fish to take a kid fishing for, but if he catches one I guarantee he will be hooked for life! They put up a great fight simply due to sheer size. The bigger they get, the more fight. Be persistent, and most of all, patient! Catching tigers is all about putting time on the water. Stick to the east shoreline around the submerged trees. Keep your hooks sharp and your lines tight! If you see a fish follow, don't dismiss it, keep the lure in the water and do circles, or the "figure-8" till she either takes the bait, or sinks off to the deep!

If you want to talk sometime, shoot me a PM, or come to one of our Muskies Inc., meetings. We meet every 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm at Five Mile Heights Pizza in Spokane. Meetings are open to anyone who wants to come, not just members. We try to have a "How-to" presentation every meeting so attendees can learn something about catching/handling tigers safely. We are a family oriented chapter, so by all means bring the whole family. We hold the meetings at Five mile since there is stuff for the little kids to do as well if they want to play. I bring my 7 year old to most all meetings.
