Walked down to Green Lake yet again to spin cast from shore. First cast was about 05:50, from the paddle boat dock. Started working clockwise down the east shore. Made it all of the way to the south end shell rowing docks and stadium without a bite. But, finally, I see a follow and strike on my trout patterned kastmaster. Doubled-back on my path to head counterclockwise to meet up with my good-luck sister-in-law. Found one gentleman at the 64th street t-dock with a fine collection of 4 planters caught on powerbait.
Not too far up the shore from there, at about 09:00, I start getting some good action on the kastmaster. First strike got away. Next two strikes I landed, both 8 inch planters, and released. Then I got bit by maybe an 11 inch brown. He was hooked deep, and was bleeding, as you can see in the picture, so had to keep it.
Ran out of time at that point so went to eat breakfast at the Red Hen this time. No rain this time, a little breeze, many other anglers, but only shell rowers on the water. Speaking of boating, I took the time to photograph one of the signs to prove that there is the no motor rule, and with the 2 hour limit! Don't think the city wants us fishing from boats much on this lake.
