Since the forecasted rain was not much this morning, I walked to the lake again to spin cast. Got started at 06:30, stopped at 10:30. At my first casting spot, at about 06:45, I hooked a stout 13" brown trout. I had just loosened the drag some, just in case, and was glad I did. It was a fun fight with him taking out line a few times. I took a photo then let him go back since he was in good shape. Worked clockwise again down the east shore, but got no hits for a long time. Made my way past the shell rowing boat house, where I finally got another strike, but it caught me off guard and no hookup. Doubled back. On the 64th street t-dock, I managed to bring a small 8" planter to hand, on the same kastmaster that the brown bit. In fact, I never switched to any other lure today. And that was it. Hopped on a city bus towards home when I got too hungry for breakfast.
