Stopped by Bitter Lake this evening to test out my "spey carbine" setup (Spey fly line on a stardard 9' switch rod) After a few miss casts finally got it dialed in for casts of about 50 feet. Stripped a black woolly bugger for a little less than half an hour and got a couple of hits, but missed it. A minute later hooked up on a nice sized planter. Sorry the for the bluriness. The flash did not come on. Got a few more hits but they didn't connect. A few fish were hitting bugs on the surface later in the evening but in the middle of the lake. You could tell they were hitting the surface bug and not emergers cuz their heads and sometimes bodies came completely out of the water. I'll bet dry flies from a boat out there could be pretty effective. Though there were heavy rains early in the evening, it calmed down significantly near sunset. It was a good day for fly fishing in Seattle!

The bluriness of the picture shows an active fish! LOL Thanks for the rerport.

A "Good day for fly fishing in Seattle" now that is something I don't hear to often. Lord/fly your fly reports on the urban lakes are motivating to read. PM sent.

Yeah, this one was more active and fought harder than the last three I caught at Bitter, probably due to the size. Thanks again Quadfather. There will be more.
