On the road in were 5 mule deer. While casting from shore a muskrat swam by a few feet away. Took me several casts, mostly because I was reeling too fast, to hook a nice fat 15 inch 'bow which I released. Also saw a turtle. Very nice evening, spent an hour there!

Great pic. you can tell that fish was thick, by looking at the girth (belly to dorsal fin)

For an hour outing you just can't beat it. Good looking fish!

Looks like that one eats rattlesnakes that get too close to the water

I thought dry falls was fly fishing only?

tpursell - Nope, just selective gear rules. Any unscented, single point, barbless lures are legal.

Is the sign at the lake wrong/outdated? I just looked at the regs and it says that you can use electric motors there now, and selective gear rules apply...but I know there was a sign there when I was there last year that said "no motors allowed in fly fishing only waters."

Dry Falls has been under Selective Gear Rules since the early '60's minimum. Recently, electric motors have been allowed. It has never, to my knowledge, been fly fishing only. I think it would be wise to read the Regs before posting comments.
