Fishing has been off and on based on the weather conditions - especially the wind. Have seen guys in float tubes and pontoon boats pulling leeches and woolie buggers. I have been using chironomids with some success. Colors and sizes varied depending on the hatch (if any).

Has anyone found a black plastic fly box (approx size - 3.5 x 6 inches) with foam inserts. It contained some hand tied chironomid patterns. The box had a white tape on the cover with the word "chironomids" hand printed in green ink). It must have fallen out of my pontoon boat at some point and I know it would have to be at Medical Lake since that is only place I have fished this spring.

Hiya Motor1. Wow I know how painful that must be to lose a box of hand-tied flies, just the hours of time behind the vise makes it a real heart breaker! I hope someone finds it and returns it to you. I have never fished Medical, are the fish of any size there?

flyfisherguy-
The fish gods are with me. Found the fly box in another pouch. Forgot that I put it there.

Medical has some nice fish - browns, rainbows and tigers - mostly browns. Fishing can be tough at times and great at other times. The good thing about the lake is that it is a selective fishery and no live bait or scents can be used so it doesn't get fished out like the "put and take" lakes. No motors of any kind allowed either.
