Launched this morning about 10am. Headed east as the wind wasn't as bad that direction....(side note, if you are planning a trip to the Bellingham area and check the forecast before you head up, add 10mph to whatever they say the wind speed will be, they never get it right).... Fished my way around to the far side alternating baits without a nibble. Water temps were 52-54* all day and it was sunny for the most part. Got to the shore directly across from the launch and let the wind push me along down towards the creek. Just before reaching the creek, I noticed a boat about 200 yards away was flagging me down with an orange life preserver, I fired up and headed that way. Two older gentlemen and a young boy were adrift in the wind, dead battery and no oars...even if they had oars, no chance in that wind! I gave them a tow back to the launch before returning to creek corner. Pounded that area before heading back in the shallows where I spooked one fish and that was about it. Never did hook a fish, but I am glad I was there to help those folks out, surely a birthday the grandson will remember!
