Left the house thinking that it was going to be a beautiful fishing day. As we got close to Blue lake the wind was howling!! Launched the boat any way, and slowly made our way to the south end of the lake. It was cold with the wind, and the anchor wouldn't hold, so we had to keep repositioning. Immediatly caught a Rainbow about 12-13 inches and thought that it wouldn't be too bad even with the wind. Got another right up to the boat before it came off the hook, dang it!! We then decided to go a bit further to the North and East shore. My son hooked one but lost it alomst immediatly. I caught another Rainbow that was about 14-16 inches, very nice looking fish. The wind calmed down and the only thing that picked up was the amount of boats. Every other boat we talked to only had a few fish. NOT a typical opening day for Blue Lake, but we will go again.
