Finally got out on the boat with my dad to do some trout fishing for the first time this year. We started fishing at about 3 PM and fished until 5:30-6 PM or so. We were trolling using red wedding rings with worms. We ended up keeping 7 trout, with one of the fish being a cutthroat. All the fish were around 12-14 inches, none of the bigger ones this time. I noticed though that the fish were short striking the wedding rings or didn't even seem to be biting the lures. When I was telling my dad that and he reeled his up after a hit he was noticing his worm wasn't even getting bit or taken off so maybe they were just hitting it with their noses and being stand offish and hitting it again? Missed about 15-20 fish between the two of us too. All in all a good day on the lake and we were able to get off the lake before the wind started picking up.

Same for me thing with me, at Spencer and Kitsap Lakes. Lost track of all the short bites. I threaded my worm really high too. TFguy
