Well, I finally got a chance to head out and fish with my long lost friend Roger a.k.a (pacbassman) from Yakima. We had to cancel our trip last week to Red Rock Lake in Grant county, but we made up for it by sticking close to home and hitting the I 82 ponds. Both of us are crappie fanatics and a couple of years ago Rog and I caught 127 crappie in one day on pond 5. Today was one where it started out slow, with only 2 10" crappie and a decent bass or the first several hours. Still, in the end we managed to put together and effective pattern by keying on isolatd woody, albeit snaggy submerged timber in 8 feet of water. Roger tore em up on a Southern Pro 1.5" silver red skirt jig and float, while I tosed a 3 " Yammaoto Tiny Ika on a firetiger jighead. When the crappie bite tapered off, I went on a tear of my own my hooking 7 2 lb plus Largemouth bass in rapid fashion by swimming my jig along a subtle drop off on the outside weed edge. Rog is pictured with one of the bigger bass. Every Crappie was a slab and we ended up with close to twenty keepers and some awesome memories. The fishing was awesome while sharing our techniques and making some awesome memories! Roger was all smiles as we are planning to hook up again soon for our favorite fish ,crappie and bass. Jiggy
