I had some time today to get out, so I went up to Cavanaugh for the kokes. Took up fellow walakes angler, Motoboat. Weather was rain about 50% of the time, water temp. 44 deg.
2 other boats on the water. We fished from 4:00-6:30.
One of those reports you just don't want to make..... We did not have a single bite! We trolled combination of lures on the downriggers. Wedding rings, dick nites, Needlefish, Home made Kokanee spinner made by Wannfish lure, "Toni"., flatfish, hot shots. Also drug a black leech fly on some leaded line. Everything.
Saw a few fish jumping or surfacing. However not what I have seen the past two years. Usually the lake is swarmed with fish on the surface. We fished the DR's at depths of 5-10' mostly. I did some dragging of the bottom with the silver flatfish.
I've had some bad fishing days for sure, but usually in the boat you can at least get a strike or two. Not today.

Bummer Quad! Days like that sure are disappointing. I tried to get up and go this morning, but let the wind and rain put me back in bed.....maybe I made a good choice. lol. Better luck next time.

That's how my Kokanee trips have been lately. Either I catch a bunch, or I get nothing. Tough luck. I dislike getting skunked.

Ditto here. But, maybe this means you got the skunk fishing out of the way and the next one's gonna be a 5.

Hey Chris, at least you went, right? I've read a few reports for Lake Stevens Kokes here recently and folks were doing very well. In fact I was just talkin with my fishin partner from work about hitting Lake Stevens here soon. It might be an option for ya and a little closer to home. Thanks for your report just the same. I find reports rated at a one or a two just as valuable as ones rated a four or five.
