We launched about 10:30am and trolled in a loop - mostly on the east side as it had less wind. Many hits, but only 4 "catchables" in the boat after 2 hours of fishing. We tried different woolley buggers (caught 3 on these - one each, black, brown & olive) and I believe the 4th was on a flatfish. Would've tossed the fish back if we'd have caught some bigger fish. I really wanted trout for dinner, so ended up keeping what we caught. The fish really liked the worms we added to everything we fished with. We did see a guy fishing off the boat launch catch a nice looking trout when we pulled out, but that was the only bigger fish we saw caught that morning.

Hard to launch boats though with all the people shore fishing from the launch area. Noticed several nice fishing docks nearby. Too bad more people didn't take advantage of that instead of blocking the launch area. Other than that, nice lake and we'll be back!

I have been to Martha Lake many times to run into the same problem at the launch. There have also been people parked so close ot the launch that you can't turn around your vehicle and trailer. How frustrating. Anyone have any tips on getting these fishermen to proper fishing locations?

The first dock near the boat launch area is where most people go. The second dock has fishing gear eating lilly pads in front of it. And the third dock is the no no fishermans dock (swimming dock) which may or may not be open only on opening day. Fished at the lake two days ago and limited out... will be back as always.

ive havn't fished this lake yet, but an idea to clear the launch area; if you have an extra seat, take one of the shore fishermen out with you, or as many as you can fit, if everyone did this, the shore would probably be much clearer. just a thought

Good thoughts, but did not have extra seat available. Boat is small & just big enough for 2 adults - or 1 adult with 2 kids - plus all the gear you need to have a good trip! :)
