After negotiating the Seep Lakes Road Block in the pic, I took my friend from work back to one of my favorite lakes. I hadn't fished the Hamptons in easily 15 years, but had high hopes. My friend had never been back into the Seep Lakes, and I kind of just wanted to show him the area. We parked and hiked back to the Upper? Hampton and started fishing in the first cove you come to. I had a bite on my 3rd cast but missed it. Baited up and threw back out and the bugger came back! This time I let him take it and then let him have it! What a great fight! Made several hard runs which were great to watch in the clear water. At this point I had high hopes for the day, but it wasn't to be...we hiked as far around the lake as we could trying various spots and colors, ending the day in the spot I caught this one, but not even another bite....unless you count the 7 ticks I pulled out of my clothing throughout the day! This trout went 24" and had two small 4" bass in it's stomach when I cleaned it, that was cool. Ended up heading home after lunch instead of hitting Warden, so this was the only trout of the trip.

I think I would rather be covered with snakes or spiders rather than ticks ...great looking fish! Vicious thing to be eating bass like that.

Hampton lakes...I was there for the first time last year. Hiked all over beyond upper hamptom. I remember when I was back on the Hwy, in the middle of driving... I freaked out, finding a tick on my neck. Guess that makes me a wuss. LOL. Good times, but dang those things are yucky! Nice trout,, btw.

Nothing like a tic to suck the life out of one mentally. :< Nice fish though! No bugs, no glory!

That's the worse I've experienced the ticks at that lake, but this is also the latest in the year I've fished it. Used to trout fish over there the first of April every year but never picked up more than 1 or 2. Won't be taking my dogs back in there that's for sure!
