Finally had a chance to get the boat wet for the first time this year, and fished for awhile on Saturday afternoon at Cassidy. I got 3 bites all afternoon, and all on my own hand poured green pumpkin plastic worms. I got three largemouth bass in the boat: #1. 23" long, 8lbs. 7oz. (my first bass of the year!!) #2. 20" long, 6lbs 3oz. (a second gift from the bass gods in this cold water) #3. 13" long (the size I figured I'd get - if anything). All fish found near weeds/pads in 3-4 feet of water. The bigger fish seemed to be chasing smaller minnows/perch in the shallows...where I found baitfish, I found some nice bass. I've done some shore fishing around the area this year, but it was really fun to finally have the time to get my boat out...and the fish cooperated too! Slow fishing, but a few great rewards for my efforts.
