I bought a used 2005 model, 10 ft Porta-Bote last October. It looked to be in very good shape, but you never know until you hit the water. Finally did get it in the water at Lost Lake about 1:30. It took about 15 minutes for my wife and I to assemble the boat. I was very pleased. As advertised, the Porta-Bote handled well, was stable and did not leak.
Rowed to the windward end of the lake and drifted lazily with the 70 degree breeze, with worm and bobber rigs. Caught 4 small rainbow trout, and 2 small LMB, all released, plus had several on the hook, but failed to land.
One fly fisherman on the bank, no other boats.
A pair of unidentified raptors were working the lake. Large, pointed wings... ospreys, perhaps?
