Put on the rain gear and headed to the shores of green lake this morning. Got started about 6:30, ended about 11. The NE 64th t-dock filled up with people, making it hard to find a place to cast, but I managed to land three fish, ranging from 8-12 inches. I missed hookups on probably another 6 strikes. We did get rained on some, but it cleared up before I left. The best part was the last fish. Like many of us do, I packed up all of my gear while leaving my bait in the water. As I packed, I talked to the fish telling them it was their last call for snacks. Right before I left, while exchanging one last story with a fellow angler, my pole tip starts to wiggle. Wooo, dream come true. Landed the fish, put it into the bag with the other two, and headed home.

My last trip to the lake was Thursday around 4ish. Was done about 40 minutes later with 4. Missed out on a few while a 3 year kept asking me a ton of questions that started off with "why?" :D. I really like the fight they give at Greenlake vs other lakes.

Wow, leaving the pole in the water as you pack up...clever!

I never leave the pole in the water... but I almost always (except those time that I'm limited) will have the bait still in the water while packing up to go.... and I do the same chant. "Fish... you have x minutes and I have to go...." Of course the fish half the time get double the time before I finally do reel in...
