Almost 5 hours of fishing paradise! Took about half an hour to catch the first one, but from then on non-stop. Too bad the ratings only go to 5! 46 largemouth (no, not a typo), 6 smallmouth, no incidentals at all. I'll settle for roughly 10 an hour any day!
Dune area, closer to crab creek than usual, earth tone palstics off shallow areas leading to deep water, points were mostly better. Since I didn't have the camera, I won't say how big, but for me these were very big, mostly. One 19" bass appeared to be male. They ranged from 1" (on a crappie jig) on up. May be my last "big boat" trip for a while, given the near European price of gas, but what a blast! Landed the biggest as quickly as possible to not exhaust them, and no fish were lethally harmed in the making of this adventure.
I did lose one very powerful fish that might have been a catfish, but never saw it. Didn't fight like a carp anyway, so I'll stick to that storyline!
Some early skeeters out, and on a break, one of the dogs picked up a tick, which we brushed off (And killed! No C&R for them!), so watch out for the plaguebearers!

That sounds like a blast. Banks is definitely one of my favorite lakes. It sounds like they are going to significantly reduce the lake level this Summer for maintenance which may spoil my annual trip there. Your report has inspired me to get out on the water this weekend!

Man, yer killin' me! I am so envious of you guys that can fish great lakes like this so often. Just 4.5 more years and I'll be retired and able to move over to the east side and spend more time fishing there! Till then I just have to read these reports and wish!

SP: Be sure to buy a place on the lake. It'll be cheaper than a gallon of gas by then... Scheduling my clients in for longer days lets me pick some days.

BT: Glad to inspire. Try to hit an overcast day.

FC: Thanks, I can't afford a place on the lake but instead we have a rolling house (motorhome) so we can be on which ever lake we want from week to week. Looking forward to it someday. Till then I just have to be good with getting over there once or twice a year and reading your reports. Get some pics up though, love to see them hawgs! Tight Lines.

Are you using Dupont spinners for bait or what? LOL.

Usually a C4 crankybait. Real plastics don't take "No" for an answer!
