My brother and I got out to Chapman at 5am Monday. Walked around the left side of the lake from resort. There are several places to fish where the dairy cows don't drink so the water is not muddied up. Started off fishing 3 feet off the bottom, 30 feet out with orange power bait on an Eagleclaw razor sharp #8. Within 15 minutes my brother landed a 5 pound bow. After 3 hours we had 6- 4 to 6 pound bows. There are 3 important things to know about catching the big rainbows out of Chapman. First have a long handled net because of the 3 foot bank. Second leave some drag because when the bows see the bank, they do a 180 and head for the checker flag like at Talledega. And third and most important, spend extra time cleaning your hands off before baiting up because these big guys have sensitive noses. Had a great Bbq that day . Mark
