Hey all,
Fished the "puddle" today for a couple of hours. I've not been able to fish for my beloved Rock Bass lately, due to the fact that the owner of the mobile dock has a horrible case of the trout fish'n flu. But that's alright 'cause there's plenty of "cure"out there.
Red worm trolls with gold blades trolled at a brisk pace will keep you busy until the light fades. Basically, anything with a slim profile and moving quickly will put you into fish.
The new arrivals have quickly adopted their predecessors appetite for chironomids. One must troll "through" the rises to get their attention.
Sometime this week I hope to dust off the fly rod and give'em hell with some home-ties.
Night fishing can be productive, though somewhat slower paced than the daylight hours. Basically a 'crawler underneath a light-up bobber, with the occasional twitch. Find the smallest worm hooks (for bass) to ensure a lip hook every time. Most of these fish are too small to be kept with good conscience.
Leech patterns can be deadly for those who's fly-casting skills warrant after hours fishing. I'm convinced that the meat eaters of the lake are strictly nocturnal.
