Fished the morning of the fourth in the northeastern portion of the lake for those elusive perch, but to no avail. Used a 1/2 oz swedish pimple tipped with a worm and a small white and red ("insect" tiny) grub also tipped with a worm.
Friend went out between 2 and 4 a.m. on the morning of the fifth and fished the western bouy, hooking a limit of the small in number but large in size rock bass that inhabit the lake, using any kind of jig tipped with a worm. These scrappy critters have historically been a twilight biters.
Upon my arrival near eight a.m., I immediately hooked two 11" rainbows, jigging a 3" "pumpkinseed" bungee leech a couple of inches off the bottom near the boat launch. I felt the wrath o' the skunk from that point on.
