Since I live in Yakima now, but wanted to get up into the mountains to fish, we went to Dog lake. We got there around 11 or so, and by the time I got the kayak inflated and had some lunch it was probably close to 12:00 when I started fishing.

There were maybe 5 other small boats on the lake while we were there. We saw a few rises here and there, but there either aren't many fish in this lake, or they don't feel like biting yet. I did get lucky enough to hook one 6-7 inch cutthroat on my first cast, but after that nothing and I saw no signs of anyone else catching anything either. Maybe they haven't stocked it yet, but if not how did I catch a fish that size? The bottom looks pretty muddy, I doubt they are spawning in there.

It is fairly scenic and nice to get on the water. If they do stock it later then we'll give it another try.
