Went camping at Moran from Mon(6/6)-Fri(6/10). Had plans to rent a rowboat or paddle. Turns out, they are in "Spring Hrs", so they were closed the entire time we were there. But would open up on Friday from 12-6.

Threw my plans out the door, so we were stuck on shore. There was a dock by the park. Saw several people fishing off it, but I never did. Tried along the road with no bites. Invaded a few campsites and found a sweet fishing spot.

I first tried every lure I had. But gave up after the 1st day. Only had 1 bite and 1 fish with the lures.

Had to resort to bait. :( We used powereggs and probably caught about 15-20 fish total throughout the trip. Most were in the 13-15" range. A few in the 12" range. And the biggest 1 was at 16". All were released to live another day, except for 1. Was hooked too deep and it didnt make it. Beautiful and colorful fish. Very strong too. I read they are native trout.

Beautiful park and lots of deer.

watch out, even though ur probably smart enough to know if the hook is in the gills and going to kill them or not, people are going to get super butthurt about u releasing fish caught on bait, i dont give a crap cause there stupid planter trout but i wouldnt post that u caught and released on powerbait cause many many people on this site have nothing better to do than get pissed about a 12 inch trout with bitten off fins from the tank... just lettin u kno

I dont think most people get butt hurt over releasing baited fish. It's when people dont count those towards their limit. I'm the same way. Each fish was counted as our daily limit when caught on bait. The closest we were able to come to a limit was when I was able to catch 4 in 1 day.

ok thats better then, but still releasing dying fish as part of ur limit is still bad like if ur not gonna keep em then dont use bait, unless your smart enough to know when your killing fish, something that cant be judged from here...
