I arrived at the lake around 1030 to overcast skies, little wind, and a water temp from 57-59F. The water continues to go down as can be seen from the picture. I will post pictures of some of the logs on the north end at a later time for all you bass fishermen.

I started trolling an orange wedding ring and got an 8" cutthroat right away, which was promptly released. That was all the action I had for a bit while I trolled all over the lake looking for fish. There weren't many surfacing and I was marking too many either. I switched over to a willow leaf with a pink wedding ring trailing behind. I don't like this set up as I find it difficult to detect bites and with little trout hard to tell if they're still on, but it does seem to work. I trolled that for a while, and when I pulled it in to check I was missing my worm. I rebated and started to send it back out. I was 25 pulls back of the 30-35 I generally go when I felt a distinct bite. I set the hook and realize this wasn't the small trout I had been catching. I could actually feel the dang thing fight through all that pop gear. He came up and rolled a few times so I got some fleeting looks at him and knew he was large. I was hoping for a 2+ pound cutt, but when I got him to the night he was a rainbow, about 16". Not a bad fish at all and my largest to date in WA! After that I trolled for a couple more hours and only had a few small light bites.

Congrats on your personal best in WA! Thanks again for the pics of the launch. Seems lower than even a few days ago.

Nice fish, probably a holdover from last years planters. Thanks for the report.
