I arrived at Silver Lake at about 7:00pm tonight. As I was putting my stuff down on the dock - a guy next to me reeled in a nice 12" rainbow trout. He was using night crawlers and white marshmallows. Since it was the day after the 4th of July - there were some "winners" lighting firecrackers ON THE DOCK and others shooting bottle rockets into the lake (from behind). I personally didn't have any bites but I did hear people were catching trout and catfish off of the dock. I really like Silver lake - the owners are nice and their friends all look out for them and their resort. I'm still learning how to properly fish and fix my rod/reel up. By the way - the guy that caught the trout gave it to me! OH - and the Game Warden was out checking for licenses - 3 guys were fined due to not having their licenses on them.
