took the kids down for some fishing.all in all it was a good day.we were at the DNR take out.when we got there ,there were about 20 people fishing from the dock so we headed down the shoreline a few hundred yards.kids caught a ton of small smallies using live worms.i managed to catch 2 nice 2 pounders. as we were leaving we stopped by the dock.i flipped my worm up under the dock and....whamm got a big bite.hooked into a real nice 3nahalf or 4 pounder. i was quite supprised sence that area was fished hard

DNR launch is past Tum Tum on highway 291 right after you pass Corkscrew Canyon Rd. Probably what you are referring to as way up by the dam. That launch is free. There is the 9 mile launch that is now state owned which is $7 when it's open, cross the 9 mile dam and follow the signs. Then there's what i call the river launch that is at the Little Spokane confluence that is open "year round" except the water's only 3 feet deep there so if the lake's drawn down at all you can't get in there. That one is $7 as well. The only launch you can use before 6am is the river launch. Stay on the river side of the buoys and there's no wake until you pass the confluence. If you go shore side of the buoys you will most definitely run aground.
