BOATS, BOATS, AND more BOATS. Then add a few more. WOW. It was like a scene from the West Side. Bosts lined up to launch, boats lined up at the "single" dock. But everyone was polite and patient, so all was well. Met Knotabite while in line to launch, and sounds like he has been having some line stretching times on RW. Got on the water around 1:30 or so after Cindy got off work. Cindy and I fished with jigs and caught and released several fish. There were plenty of rod bending action for us, so we boated our limit and came home after an hour or so of relaxing fishing. We each had a nice tripp in the cooler, a nd cindy hooked up with a pole bender that she said she was going to keep. As she was fighting her fish, I was working in a brown marabou jig and Bam, fish on. We had a double, in the current, so I kicked the trolling motor off, and we drifted and fought our fish. Cindy grabbed the net and was going to do a double net job. as we were getting the fish in position, Cindy made a scoop. Lots of splashing goin on. Cindy's fish came off and away it swam. Or so we thought. Luck was in her favor. Her fish was netted, and it was my--still hooked up--fish that was still swimming. So back to the net we came, and She had two fish in the net. WOW, what a rush. Ended the day with 4 nice trout--big one at 6 1/2#. There was a boat from the Okanogan County Sheriff's Dept working the water. Was great to see some official presence on the water. They were checking boater compliance, and looked to be keeping busy. Stay safe out there, and keep a "cool" head.

Great report and awesome fish you two. Yes it is good to see the Sheriffs Office out checking as I have seen some not so safe boating lately.

Hey ya Robert, It is surprising that you aren't picking up some of the 3-5 pounders. If I can get some free time (from fishing LOL), we need to get Carrie back out. Later Dude

Hey fishdoc, it is a ball, if you are in the right place at the right time. We talked with some folks who had been up between the second and third pens, and all the members limited out quickly. Tey weren't even savy fisherfolk (by their admission), and they said they could't keep them off the line. At least these folks had the decency to catch their limit and call it quits. GRRRRRRRRRR, saw dead fish in the shallows in a couple places. It happens every time there is a good bite going on. Some folks will do anything to up their chance to take home a "big" fish. Sorry for the rant, but I hope y'all understand. Thanks for the comment and have some fun on the water.

Hey Ganno, when RW is on the Bite, there are few complaints, LOL. It is hard to find better action any where. IF a person plays by the rules, i.e. single barbless hooks, AND no bait if you want to catch more than Two fish. An awesome place to take folks who "need" the experience of yanking on a fish. Thanks for your comment.

Hi alkalibee, I wish I knew the answer to that one, but rest assured the fishing should be good "somewhere" on the system for a good long while, I wouldn't be surprised to see some of these fish showing up in the catch the winter of 2012-2013, and look out as they will be bruisers. As more of these are caught, they will be spreading out through the system, and growing large. But how long will it last as a feverish bite, Don't know. Thanks for the question and wish I had a better answer for you. Take care and go catch a fish

Loui:, what you say is quite true, we were here Sunday and could not keep them off the hood, hit the water yesterday about 11;30 am, with my brother from Oregon. We had a nice fish right off the bat 8 1/2lbs, than things slowed down and it took us 4 hours to fill out the limit. no catch and release, everthing we got went into the boat, the last fish was as we were bringing in the lines to go home.. the water seemed faster than the weekend but we are headed out again this am........

stryker17, but that just keep us humble. LOL it is good to hear of your success with your brother. It can be a trip of a lifetime on inland waters, so enjoy and Share the excitment.

we got on the water a little earlier at 9;30, first fish in the boat at 10;00 was 8 1/2 lb very good for the first 2 hours than slowed down like yesterday, we did limit with all 4 fish over 5 lbs, realy nice time, this is the first time we have been able to fish togather in over 50 years, so it was fun being togather and getting fish....................

Nice to meet ya blufin... cool reports you do give.. yeah that was wild 7 boats in line and what time was it 3pm or so? lol... well it is a 15 minute drive for me so there will never be any complaining from this guy.. We have about 18 people coming over for the fourth of July and yes they will be bringing there boats (2) plus mine (look out!! - family is wild..). I did get checked by the ok sheriff boat - very pleasant - if you got everything your good - took about 45 minutes though ..oh wait that was because my hook was through and around and back through the net trying to get it untangle (sometimes you think your doing worse than better when that happens). We boated our limit and had 1 that was yep you guessed it 1.3 pounds no thats not 13lbs there is a decimal between the numbers! HA .. be safe to all and try and enjoy yourself out on the water.. Come on summer!! Sorry west side but it is still cold here..
