We wanted to get out in the new boat and break her in right with some fish blood right off the bat, and what better way to do that than go Perch fishing right??

Headed out to Lake Washington, launched in the slew around 11:30 and the water was a bit rough so we decided to try in front of St. Edwards before running any further. Using worms on a bait holder hook, right on the drop off and edge of the weed bed we dropped all the way to just off the bottom and jigged the worms. First try got a nice perch on the drop, and lots more after that. We caught fish constantly for the rest of the night, one pumpkinseed and a few squawfish (that weren't kept) and lots of sculpin.

All in all it was a fun day and a great way to break in the new boat. Most of the perch were spawned out, so we had to throw some back the size I'd normally keep cause they were SOOO skinny there just wasn't enough to fry. But we got enough good sized perch to make dinner for 4 of us, and enjoyed some good company and fun fishing!
