I have not been fishing in a little bit and I didn’t have to go to work until noon so I thought I would hit Clear Lake for a couple hours since it had been so easy the last time. Well after a comedy of errors launching. I am glad there wasn’t anyone there to see, I launched at 6:15am. I went with a Wannafish A Lure Squiddy Thang and a 50/50 lures with a Dick Nite Pink Splatter Dodger and the 50/50 dodger. I went to the northwest side of the lake and did not get anything, not even a nudge. I texted my mentors, Kokanee Kid and Kokanee_Slayer that I wasn’t getting anything. Kid called me (had 3 bites by then) for a cell phone bite which did work. Bite, no hook up. I got over to the south east end of the lake and that is where I got my limit. Off the lake about 8:15am.
I was 20-25 pulls back at 15-32 feet of cable in 60-100 feet of water. They liked the shoepeg corn on the lures for bait.
Some how my water bottle leaked a little bit of water on my cell phone after the cell phone bite and it went crazy so if you got a call from me I didn’t do it. It is out of order for now.

U certainly have the kokes dialed in Toni. The weather was terrific this morning too for a morning out on the water. Out of curiosity, how do you usually prepare your kokanee? I smoked a couple as an afterthought late last year and they were delicious! Only brined them in the salmon brine for maybe 1 hour (the salmon I had put in overnight).

PS-U did well to escape the crowds of Dash Pt for crabbing. Very crowded to say the least.

I usually smoke it. I have BBQ'D it and deep fried it and saute it in butter. I like it smoked best. Then deep fried. I will get enough crab next month during the pinks!
