Braved the boating traffic at cavanaugh for kokanee. launched at about 430pm trolling wedding rings. water was rough and fishing was pretty slow. got 2 cutts and 1 koke in a few hours. had to dodge jet skis and speed boats the whole time. had to really work hard for these ones today.

It's such a great fishery when the boats and fire crackers aren't out in force. Go back again after this holiday passes. I remember last year I was out there about 3 days b4 the 4th of July.... I was a little scared. You know how everybody is up at their "Summer house" blowin' **** up and pointing their explosives out in the lake. I felt like a target.

When I was there a couple weeks ago there were only a few ski boats on the water but what I didn't like was a few of the ski boats thought it was okay to pass by us at 30 mph maybe 50 yards from us. One gal waved to us as they flew by and I just shook my head and realized they didn't have a clue. The lake is big enough so ski boats can enjoy the lake without buzzing the fisherpeople. The lake was however beautiful and most of our trip was great with exception to that one ski boater. I will go back in September after pink season.
