sure would like to see a picture of that. That's a wall hanger in this state.

Did I say this state? That'd be a wall hanger anywhere in the world.

i have never even heard of smallmouth in swofford pond, i could be mistaken but i am pretty sure that there are only largemouth there. also i don't mean to be an ass, but 7 lbs? smallmouth? without photo evidence that's just asking to get a mouthful..

actually after doing some online look up, i guess there are smallmouth in swofford that are "elusive" compared to the largies. swofford pond does that a ton of food for the bass so i don't doubt that they can get big. but 7 pounds for a smallmouth would be like 15 lbs for a largemouth, a total monster..

actually never mind.. google is being retarded.. swofford pond only has largemouth. neighboring lakes like riffe and mayfield have smallies but swofford does not. if you caught a 7 lb largemouth that would be a lot more believable because 9 lbers have been caught out of swofford. but 7 lb smallmouth out of swofford? no way jose.

Probably misiditification. I was fishing Silver Lake by Eatonville. A gentleman told us he caught over 20 smallmouth and had them in his cooler....They were perch. On the other side of the spectrum. Me and a friend were fishing St. Clair when a man walked out on his deck and began telling us where he's been catching bass. The conversation was going well till he said he'd caught 3 largemouth over 20 lbs since he lived there......I mean he's looking at 2 bass fisherman in a 20 ft. Skeeter bassboat, with thousands of dollars worth of bass gear around us, and he honestly thought he could throw that one passed us. Needless to say, that was the end of the conversation.

I fish the area quite a bit, and I've caught a 6+ lber and tons of 3s and 4s but they were not in swofford. It is right next to swofford's spillway on the riffe side. There are tons of small mouth that hang out in there. The person oviously didn't know that was riffe lake or didn't know that it was a largemouth. Either way there are no small mouth in swofford, unless a "bucket biologist" put him in there and someone found him.

He was fishing below the dam.. So they were fishing Rife. There are some pig smallies in Rife.

I know of a 6 lb smallmouth caught near the lower end of Riffe, caught on a small jig while fishing for crappie. I guess anything can happen. And saying "about" means it was not weighed. Personally I've caught some 5's that when I first held them up I swore were heavy 6's till I weighed them. Still, anywhere near 7 is a pig, largemouth or smallmouth. Whatever the case, congrats to the catcher.

There is not suppose to be sm in swafford...well there is not suppose to be sturgeon in there either but I have witnessed 2 of them being caught! 1 42 incher and a 35 incher both fish were released. A 7lb sm is kinda hard to believe but who know back in the late 80's they had shocked a 13 lb LM bass in there twice.
