On the lake about 7am. Scanned for fry, saw several groups hanging around weeds and milfoil. Saw several bass surfacing so I cast a spinnerbait (bluegill color) to one of the schools of fry; fish on! Pulled in a nice male, a little under 2 lbs. I continued on switching between the spinnerbait, zara spook, and a jig. Went to the spot I missed the biggun last time and threw the spook. A couple pulls along a lilypad edge and I saw the boil... a second later bam! Fought her in for a minute and pulled a beautiful 4 lb, 11 oz piggy into the boat. Made me happy until I lost my nice new spinnerbait a few minutes later! Tried a few more spots with no luck. About the time I had to leave I found a very fiesty bass that kept splashing about but I couldnt get it to bite. Off the water around 1130am. Tight lines!

very nice fish...gj!

What brand was the bluegill colored spinnerbait? I saw a couple bass gorging themselves on bluegill fry yesterday, but had nothing remotely close in the tackle bax.

Strike King Premier Plus, Double willow. I sure did like that spinnerbait... till my knot broke and I watched it plummet to the bottom of the lake... dag-nabit!

Haha, yeah, prolly should leave that to Trent! I think he's got this lake figured out way better than I do. I've still got a lot of learning to do! But if anyone wants to tag along and pitch in some gas money, I'm all ears!!

When you see the bass feeding on fry try a black worm the biggest you have.

Or junebug.. Yea I know the Lk where to go. It's funny I catch them all over the Lk there are no hot spots there all good. With every cast I'm ready to set the hook.

great job man! i have a couple zara super spook jrs but haven't caught anything worth mentioning on them yet. i totally know what it's like watching lures plumet to the bottom of the lake. one time i got distracted before casting and my crankbait grabbed 2 spinnerbaits and a buzzbait out of my tackle bag and when i went to cast i watched all 3 fly into the lake.. almost 20 bucks worth gone -___-

Owch! Yeah I have the habit when I'm tying on a new lure of clipping the tag end and immediately tossing the lure over the side to get the slack line off the boat. Well that's all well and good if you clip the tag end... Yep that was another spinnerbait lost... watched that one flutter all the way down, lol! I'll have to give the worms a shot Trent. Just got a bunch in the mail I'm dying to try!
